About GA Seek

GA Seek is a guide for people choosing where to live in metro Atlanta and deciding whether to rent or buy once they get there, whether they are moving in from another state or across the Perimeter.

Every guide is built from what the responsible bodies publish: the U.S. Census Bureau, the Georgia Department of Revenue, the county tax commissioners in DeKalb, Cobb, Gwinnett and Fulton, the Department of Community Affairs’ Landlord-Tenant Handbook, MARTA, Atlanta Beltline Inc. and the school districts themselves. Where a figure could not be confirmed from the source, the guide says so instead of guessing.

Tax rates, fares and program rules change every year, and Fulton County’s 2026 bills are still temporary. Treat the numbers here as a starting point and check the office named in each guide before you sign a lease or a contract.

GA Seek is independent and is not affiliated with any city, county, school district, transit agency or real estate business. It does not give legal, tax or financial advice.
